This year the unusual festival took place in Kawasaki, south of Tokyo and it gathered more than 30,000 worshipers who praised the sexuality gods and asked for protection from sexually transmitted diseases. The Phallic Festival dates back over 300 years, when Japanese geishas asked for protection from an epidemic of syphilis and its core ceremonies still remain very mystical and can be
